Dr. Ming Xu L.Ac.

Founder & President

Dr. Ming Xu is a licensed acupuncturist and founder of Monterey Institute of Natural Medicine, a nonprofit organization dedicated to Traditional Chinese Medicine, health education, and community wellness.

She earned her Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California, and completed advanced doctoral-level training in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She also holds an Associate degree in Natural Science from Monterey Peninsula College.

With more than a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Xu provides personalized acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine care with a focus on pain and inflammation, mobility and injury recovery, neuropathy, women’s health, stress and sleep, and overall wellness. Her approach combines the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine with thoughtful, patient-centered care.

Dr. Xu believes that effective healthcare begins with listening. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, she takes time to understand each patient’s health concerns, lifestyle, and goals and develops an individualized treatment plan based on their needs.

As founder of Monterey Institute of Natural Medicine, Dr. Xu is committed not only to patient care but also to health education, prevention, and expanding access to Traditional Chinese Medicine in the communities the Institute serves.

Dr. Jeffrey Pang L.Ac. & DAOM

A licensed acupuncturist of California, Jeffrey Pang is a third-generation herbalist in his family practice. He is from Guanzhong, China. He received his education in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) by apprenticing with his grandfather and earning a medical degree from Sun Yat Sen University of Medical Sciences. Like many physicians in China, he was sent to the countryside to work at a rural community hospital during the Cultural Revolution, and later practiced as a TCM doctor in Hong Kong. In 1984, he was invited to join Five Branches University, and has become one of its preeminent faculty members and practitioners. Dr Pang has co-authored a textbook titled Chinese Medicine Dietetics (Volume I). The text presents both a Chinese and a Western medical perspective on nutrition and offers integrative approaches to healthy eating and food remedies.

Dr. Zeng Ao

Dr.Zeng is in private practice Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chengdu, Sichuan province in China currently. She earned a Doctoral degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from ChenDu TCM University in China. After graduating she worked in the Hospital of Chengdu TCM University for fifteen years. She had an apprenticeship with Chinese National Recognized TCM Dr. Wang chenrong, Dr.Yu shuguang, Dr.Xiaoyi, Dr.Songxinh. Also, She has been a traveling scholar in German, Austria, TaiWang with TCM practicing and teaching for years. She specializes in pain management, anti-aging, women’s health and TCM pediatric.
